Coming together in Schwerin: Encounter, exchange, and shared experiences

On October 16, 2026, the Alte Post Schwerin will become an open meeting point for people of all ages and from different walks of life. Under the motto Come Together! Be Together! Stay Together! a versatile event experience will be created with exchange, creative offerings, music, film, food, and conversations across neighborhood and other boundaries.

An afternoon full of encounters

The event day begins with a photo walk through the solidarity neighborhood. From 2:00 PM to 3:45 PM, the joint tour with Juliane Kahl starts from the Alte Post through Schwerin. Local and global neighborliness, new perspectives, and personal exchange will be at the center of this tour.

Diverse program for children, families, and adults

The Alte Post offers space for intergenerational togetherness. A play construction site provides great play and creative offerings, while a quiz invites participation. Delicious food and drinks create a relaxed atmosphere where conversations naturally arise.

An exhibition is dedicated to global causes of flight. Additionally, booths will provide information on climate, war, peace, global justice, and ways to actively engage in Schwerin. The event thus connects entertainment, cultural education, and social exchange.

Film, conversation, workshop, and gospel music

At 4:10 PM, the results of the photo walk will be presented. This will be followed by a film Without School No Dreams about children in Togo with a subsequent discussion from 4:30 PM to 5:15 PM. The offering is aimed at students from approximately the 4th grade onwards.

From 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM, a workshop on climate (in)justice invites discussion. The musical highlight will be the gospel choir Spirit Of Joy, which will create emotional moments and a special audience atmosphere from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM.

Organized together, designed together

What now?! e.V., BUNDjugend Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the German-African Cooperation e.V., the Africa Media Center, and Kombinat 63 invite you to join together. Many Schwerin initiatives contribute to shaping the program. This collaboration demonstrates careful event planning and a clear targeting of audiences for children, young people, families, and anyone interested in encounters and global contexts.

Conclusion: Schwerin experiences community

Come Together! Be Together! Stay Together! connects information, culture, music, and personal encounters into an open event experience. Those who want to meet new people, discover local initiatives, and experience Schwerin from different perspectives will find a suitable place at the Alte Post.
