Beethoven's famous opera in the Large House at the Old Garden

Beethoven's opera in the large house

On October 9, 2026, Ludwig van Beethoven's opera Fidelio will be on the program of the Mecklenburg State Theater in Schwerin. The performance takes place in the Large House at the Old Garden, providing a special occasion for an evening at the theater in the center of the capital of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Fidelio is among the well-known operas of the classical repertoire. At its heart is Beethoven's only completed opera, which is still regularly found on the programs of major theaters today. The Schwerin date is aimed at opera lovers as well as visitors who wish to get to know the Mecklenburg State Theater.
