TOURIST INFORMATION Schwerin | Opening Hours & Tickets
The Tourist Information Schwerin is the central point of contact for anyone wanting to get to know the state capital located by the lake landscape between the old town, castle, and marketplace. Those arriving and not wanting to search for long will find orientation, advice, and concrete assistance for their stay here in the heart of the city. The official presence describes the Tourist Information as a place for planning and organizing the trip, providing accommodation bookings, ticket sales, day programs for groups, brochures, maps, souvenirs, and the sale of the Schwerin ticket. At the same time, the facility is so centrally located that it is particularly practical for spontaneous city explorations, last-minute questions, and starting a tour. Due to its proximity to the marketplace, the town hall, and the main routes of the city center, the Tourist Information is not only an information point but also a natural starting point for city tours, cultural events, and discoveries around the World Heritage site. Schwerin itself highlights its historic old town, the castle, the gardens, and the water landscape, presenting the Tourist Information as a component of this overall experience. Opening Hours of the Tourist Information Schwerin
The question about opening hours is one of the most frequently searched topics, and this is exactly where the official city page provides the most reliable basis. Currently, the main page for the Tourist Information Schwerin states that it is open Monday to Friday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM; the facility is closed on Sundays. Seasonal information appears on further subpages, which may differ for certain periods, especially for older or other service areas of the website. In practice, this means: Those who want to be sure should briefly check the official page before their visit, especially if their arrival falls on a holiday, a weekend, or a vacation period. This mix of clear core hours and possible seasonal adjustments makes sense for tourist information in a heavily visited destination because advice, ticket sales, and visitor numbers fluctuate throughout the year. For seekers looking for terms like opening hours, today, Saturday, or Sunday opening when searching for the Tourist Information Schwerin, the current official page is therefore the best reference. Additionally, it is important that the Tourist Information is not located on the outskirts but is situated directly at the market in the town hall. This allows the visit to be easily combined with a stroll through the old town, an appointment at the castle, or a quick detour to cafes and attractions. ([schwerin.de](https://www.schwerin.de/kultur-tourismus/Information/Tourist-Information/oeffnungszeiten/index.html))
The question of contact is also quickly answered. The current city portal lists the phone number for the Tourist Information Schwerin as +49 385 545-5000, while the service portal provides an older dataset with 0385 5925212 and the email address info@schwerin.info. From an SEO and user perspective, both are important: One field provides the current main contact route of the city page, while the other confirms the classic tourism address along with the email that many visitors use for inquiries about accommodations, tours, or group trips. Communication also shows how strongly the Tourist Information is integrated into the city's information system. It is not just a service point but part of a larger digital offering with forms, event calendars, ticket inquiries, and informational material. So, those searching for phone numbers, contact, opening hours, or email usually want to be able to plan immediately. That is exactly what the Tourist Information Schwerin provides: it reduces research effort and leads directly to the most important next steps. This clear orientation makes the location relevant for day visitors, weekend travelers, families, groups, and event attendees alike. ([schwerin.de](https://www.schwerin.de/kultur-tourismus/Information/Tourist-Information/oeffnungszeiten/index.html))
Tickets, City Tours, and Event Calendar
A large part of the demand revolves around tickets and events. The Tourist Information Schwerin not only sells tickets for daily city tours and trips but also the Schwerin ticket, which is marketed as a combined discovery solution with discounts. The service portal additionally mentions online ticket sales for tours in Schwerin. This is particularly convenient for visitors because it allows for structuring the stay not just on-site but also in advance. Those looking for a classic city tour will find the city’s event calendar, where a public city tour starts daily at 11 AM at the marketplace. Thematic formats and recurring event series complement the city’s image. The official event highlights of the city include, for example, Spring Awakening, Film Art Festival MV, Schwerin Castle Festival, the Schwerin Castle Festival Weekend, Gourmet Garden, Dragon Boat Festival, Winemaker Festival, Windros Festival, and Martens Market. Thus, the Tourist Information is not only a booking office but also a hinge between city life, the cultural calendar, and experience planning. So, those searching for “upcoming events,” “program,” or “tickets” ideally land here, as the visit to one place can be bundled with the most important dates, offers, and updates. ([schwerin.de](https://www.schwerin.de/kultur-tourismus/Information/Tourist-Information/oeffnungszeiten/index.html))
Particularly valuable is that the Tourist Information also supports groups and tour operators. The city’s pages explicitly mention city tours for groups, experience components, travel accompaniment for day trips, as well as accommodation and programs. This fits well with the frequently searched terms related to evening tours, thematic walks, or special formats. The official website and event calendar also provide information on cycling tours by ADFC, including an evening tour, which shows that Schwerin offers a lively mix of classic city tours, active leisure activities, and seasonal events. For guests, this is attractive because they can not only buy a ticket but also flexibly adjust their time in the city to their own pace. Those arriving in the morning can directly inquire about day programs at the town hall; those who have been in Schwerin longer will find new dates and thematic walks in the calendar. This connection between sales, advice, and current event information is one of the strongest reasons why the Tourist Information Schwerin frequently appears in search engines with terms like events, city tours, day programs, and tickets. ([schwerin.de](https://www.schwerin.de/kultur-tourismus/Information/Tourist-Information/reiseveranstalterservice/?utm_source=openai))
Accommodations, Short Trips, and Group Services
Many visitors come not just for a day trip to Schwerin but plan an overnight stay or even a small travel program. For this, the Tourist Information Schwerin is particularly well-equipped according to the city page. It provides free accommodation bookings in hotels, guesthouses, private rooms, and vacation apartments in and around Schwerin, offers attractive short trips, and organizes day programs for groups. These services are important because Schwerin as a travel destination benefits greatly from the combination of compact paths, attractions, and water-rich landscapes. Those arriving in the city often want to gather many impressions in a short time: castle, old town, gardens, lakes, cathedral, and cultural sites are all close together. The Tourist Information bundles these options into a type of travel planning from a single source. This is a clear added value, especially for families, clubs, bus groups, or couples spending a weekend in the city. Instead of painstakingly piecing together individual components, one can make specific inquiries at the town hall and access verified offers. The city’s newsletter and the tourist pages on accommodations and excursion tips also show that Schwerin is specifically aimed at guests who want to take away more than just a fleeting impression. The Tourist Information is thus not just a service point but an operational center for travel planning, service, and combinations of culture, nature, and accommodation. ([schwerin.de](https://www.schwerin.de/kultur-tourismus/Information/Tourist-Information/oeffnungszeiten/index.html))
Additionally, there is the organizational added value for tour operators and groups. The city explicitly mentions tours for groups, experience components, travel accompaniment for day trips, as well as accommodation and programs as offers. For SEO inquiries like services offered by Tourist Information Schwerin, tourist information schwerin services, or tourist information schwerin prices, this is relevant because here, individual service arrangements take precedence over flat rates. The Schwerin ticket complements this structure as a combined discovery option with local transport and discounts, while brochures, city maps, and informational materials secure the stay on-site. This combination of digital pre-planning, personal advice, and concrete booking support makes the location particularly strong for guests who value efficiency. Schwerin presents itself as a city with short distances, many experiences, and high quality of stay. The Tourist Information provides exactly the right tools: it turns a general travel wish into an on-site implementable program. This creates a service image that is both informative and sales-strong and is excellent for search queries related to accommodation, group travel, and short trips. ([schwerin.de](https://www.schwerin.de/kultur-tourismus/Information/Tourist-Information/oeffnungszeiten/index.html))
Access, Parking, and Location at the Marketplace
The location of the Tourist Information Schwerin is one of its greatest advantages. It is located at Markt 14 in 19055 Schwerin, directly at the marketplace in the Schwerin Town Hall. For visitors, this means an extremely central position right in the old town, close to the most important pedestrian paths, attractions, and cultural points of interest. This location is particularly convenient for guests arriving by train and then continuing on foot or by local transport. The city center of Schwerin is compact and designed for short distances as a tourist destination, which makes the location of the Tourist Information even more valuable. Those arriving there do not have to spend a long time in traffic but are immediately in the urban core of the experience. This location is also a plus in connection with the city’s event program: many city tours, exhibitions, and central appointments start in the city center or can be reached in just a few minutes from there. The marketplace is thus not just an address but a logical starting point for a visit to Schwerin. Especially for first-time visitors, this position significantly reduces planning stress because one can bundle arrival, orientation, and first steps in one place. ([schwerin.de](https://www.schwerin.de/kultur-tourismus/Information/Tourist-Information/oeffnungszeiten/index.html))
Parking is also well thought out in the city center. The official overview of parking at events in the Schwerin city center lists around 2000 car parking spaces in parking garages and larger parking areas within a radius of just 650 meters around the marketplace. Among others, the parking garage at the castle with 350 spaces, the castle park center with 1100 spaces, the Schweriner Höfe with 360 spaces, the parking lot Old Town/Grüne Straße with 200 spaces, and the parking lot at the city harbor with 90 spaces are mentioned. Additionally, there are park-and-ride options and designated bus parking. For visitors to the Tourist Information, this means: even in a central city location, arriving by car or bus remains manageable. So, those wondering where to park at the Tourist Information Schwerin will not find the answer in a single mini-parking space right in front of the door but in a well-developed city center structure. This is often the better solution for tourist destinations because it connects pedestrians, bus groups, and city traffic cleanly. Therefore, for SEO texts, terms like parking, access, parking garage, old town, and marketplace are particularly relevant as they describe the practical utility of the location. ([schwerin.de](https://www.schwerin.de/kultur-tourismus/veranstaltungen/parken-bei-veranstaltungen-in-der-schweriner-innenstadt/))
Accessibility, City Marketing, and Schwerin as a Travel Destination
An important aspect that is often overlooked at the Tourist Information Schwerin is accessibility. A city accessibility guide describes the entrance for wheelchair users via the Tourist Information and refers to the stair lift to the town hall. Additionally, the Tourist Information is located on the ground floor of the Old Town Hall. This is a valuable note for visitors with limited mobility as it transparently presents access in the city center. Accessibility is not just a technical detail but part of good hospitality. A Tourist Information should be open to as many people as possible because it facilitates access to city maps, tickets, brochures, and orientation. For inquiries about barrier-free access, entrance, wheelchair, or disabled access, this official information is therefore particularly useful. Combined with the central location at the marketplace, it creates the image of a well-accessible service point that simplifies the visit to Schwerin for very different target groups. Families with strollers, older travelers, groups, and individual guests all benefit equally when information is clearly and straightforwardly available in advance. ([newsletter.schwerin.de](https://newsletter.schwerin.de/export/sites/default/.galleries/Dokumente/Leben-in-Schwerin/Menschen-mit-Behinderung/Stadtfuerer_Final-Schrift-12-5.-Gesamtausgabe.pdf))
Additionally, the integration into city marketing is important for understanding the location. The city of Schwerin has announced that as of January 1, 2026, city marketing will be part of the new specialist service for economy and city marketing, while the Tourist Information will remain in its usual location. This shows that Schwerin is organizationally tightening its tourist marketing with economic and location communication. For visitors, this primarily means more digital and administrative networking behind the scenes without losing the familiar point of contact at the market. At the same time, the city highlights Schwerin's special tourist attractiveness: the Schwerin Castle, the old town, the lakes, and the gardens, along with the Schwerin Residence Ensemble as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since summer 2024. In this context, the Tourist Information fulfills its role as the first address for all those who want to turn a walk into a rounded stay. Those searching for photos, reviews, or specific event information often end up at this intersection between service, culture, and cityscape. The Tourist Information Schwerin is thus not an interchangeable info point but a central component of a city that connects historical backdrop, short distances, and modern tourism organization. For inquiries about Tourist Information Schwerin at the market Schwerin, city marketing Schwerin, upcoming events, and services offered, it is therefore particularly well-positioned.
We had a great walking tour with Mr. Meier last Tuesday (the tour was in German language). The guide has great knowledge and sense of humor. I had the feeling that he is able to tell you interesting things about every building in the city while keeping a balance between the detailed explanation and the general story. I loved that he didn't rush through the city and walked with us via both very touristy and unique places. The trip was about 1.5 hours long but I could listen to him much longer! It was one of the best walking tours that I have ever had! Thank you very much for showing us your city Mr. Meier!

Good service however it seems like they don't want non-German speaking tourists as every bit of information is only in German which I find annoying (this applies to the whole city).

Our tour guide Bärbel captivated us on November 1st, 2025, with her love for her hometown, and even made us a little envious. Her passion, wit, and optimism turned those two hours into a wonderful experience. Even my 14-year-old daughter enjoyed it. 👍 Thanks again!
