Friend N Fellow bring the sound of an entire band to Schwerin
On Saturday, October 9, 2027, Constanze Friend and Thomas Fellow will transform the Speicher Schwerin into an intense concert venue. The duo, performing together since 1991, represents an extraordinary combination of expressive singing, virtuosic guitar, and a live atmosphere that goes far beyond the classic duo format.
One voice, one guitar – and a full band sound
Friend N Fellow create an astonishing sonic breadth with minimal instrumentation. Constanze Friend's distinctive voice meets the precise, rhythmically flexible guitar playing of Thomas Fellow. Through dynamic coordination, differentiated articulation, and a nuanced stage performance, a sound emerges that shifts between soul, blues, jazz, and folk.
35 years of shared concert experience
For more than three decades, Constanze Friend and Thomas Fellow have shared the stage. During this time, the duo has played over 1,000 concerts in Europe, the USA, and Asia and has performed with artists such as Ray Charles, Al Jarreau, and Luther Allison. Their discography includes albums such as Home, Purple Rose, Taxi, Covered, Crystal, Lady, Discovered, and About April.
Intimacy with great musical impact
The appeal of a Friend N Fellow concert lies in the immediate closeness between the audience and the music. Quiet passages leave space for breath and lyrics, before voice and guitar swell into powerful arcs of tension. The acoustics, lighting, and audience atmosphere in the Speicher create the framework for a concert that combines musical precision with emotional directness.
Jazz, blues, and soul in concentrated form
The arrangements thrive on reduction: no large ensemble, no overloaded orchestration, but a finely balanced interplay. Thomas Fellow's guitar work takes on rhythmic, harmonic, and melodic functions simultaneously, while Constanze Friend illuminates every line with warm depth and expressive presence. This very synchronization defines the characteristic band sound of the duo.
Conclusion: Schwerin experiences a duo with extraordinary stage presence
Friend N Fellow promise a concentrated, atmospheric, and musically diverse concert experience at Speicher Schwerin. Anyone who wants to experience soul, blues, jazz, outstanding singing, and virtuosic guitar playing up close should enjoy this evening live.
