Create your own artworks with imagination and sunlight
In the artistic workshop for children with Jana Maria Dohmann, the exhibition at the Art Association for Mecklenburg and Vorpommern in Schwerin serves as a starting point for a special family experience. Children explore art with all their senses, gather their impressions, and transform their ideas into personal collages.
Discover the exhibition and gather inspiration
Together, the children explore the exhibition and allow themselves to be inspired by words, objects, and movements. This creates a child-friendly learning experience that sparks curiosity and provides an open access to contemporary art.
Collages with a special technique
The focus is on cyanotype. In this photographic process, images are created on paper using sunlight. The children experience how unique artworks grow from their own ideas, memories, and found shapes. This fosters creativity, concentration, and the joy of independent creation.
A workshop for children aged 7 to 12 years
The offer is age-appropriate for children aged 7 to 12 years. Each child brings a small object that they have once dreamed of or would like to dream of. A chestnut, a snorkel, a marble, or another object that fits on an A4 sheet will be part of the creative process.
Shared time with children's laughter and fun learning
The workshop combines artistic experimentation with shared time. Drinks and snacks are prepared, and the resulting artworks can be taken home afterward. This way, the family experience remains visible even after the workshop, reminding them of a morning filled with wonder, imagination, and children's laughter.
Conclusion
Families can expect an inspiring art morning with hands-on creativity, age-appropriate teaching, and an exciting encounter with cyanotype. Those who want to give children joy in art, development, and independent creation should experience this workshop live in Schwerin.
