Ireland between Wanderlust, Humor, and Accordion Sounds
A journey into the unknown that feels surprisingly familiar: With HAVE THE ÉIRE, IRELAND!, Peer Martiny and Friedrich Bassarak invite you on November 13, 2026, to werk3 / KlangWert in Schwerin. The evening combines acting, storytelling, and Irish-inspired live music into an atmospheric stage experience full of humor, warmth, and surprising tales.
Forty Years of Ireland in Stories
Peer Martiny shares more than four decades of personal experiences on the green island. The focus is on funny, absurd, and lovable encounters that depict Ireland beyond tourist postcard images. Questions about fish discounts, Lisdoonvarna, and the surprising connections between the Caribbean and Ireland open up small theatrical windows into a vast world.
Story Theater with Musical Dramaturgy
The production thrives on the immediate presence of spoken words. Martiny narrates memories, observations, and travel images, while Friedrich Bassarak contributes accordion compositions of Irish style. This blend of acting, literature, and music creates a lively dramaturgy: sometimes the punchline is at the center, sometimes a melancholic tone, and sometimes the quiet wonder at the peculiarities of a country.
An Intense Stage Experience at werk3
In werk3 / KlangWert, the narration meets an intimate theater atmosphere. The closeness between stage and audience gives special weight to every gesture, every glance, and every accordion chord. The reduced format focuses attention on voice, rhythm, and sound, creating space for a lively audience reaction.
Ireland as a Stage Landscape
The journey leads not only geographically to Ireland but also through different moods: wanderlust and a sense of home, foreignness and familiarity, absurd everyday situations, and heartfelt encounters lie close together. Thus, a literary-musical theater evening is created, forming its images from language and music, taking the audience on a charming shared voyage of discovery.
Conclusion: An Evening for Heart, Mind, and Travel Urge
HAVE THE ÉIRE, IRELAND! promises a personal stage experience with pointed storytelling, Irish sounds, and great closeness to the audience. Anyone wishing to experience acting, literature, music, and fine humor in a concentrated atmosphere will find at werk3 / KlangWert an evening full of stories that resonate long after the final applause.
